Key Responsibilities:

Drive Continuous Improvement: Assess current plant operations to identify opportunities for enhancing operational efficiency. Recommend and evaluate new technologies or methodologies that can elevate facility performance metrics and minimize costs. Create tools and applications to bolster our capacity for improving plant performance.

Analyze and Enhance Plant Operations: Review and support field plant performance, analyze historical data, and utilize performance models to pinpoint areas for operational enhancement, potential modifications, and the introduction of new systems.

Develop Performance Dashboards: Design and refine plant-level dashboards and reports to assist operations management and foster operational advancements. Facilitate on-site training and application of dashboards in collaboration with Plant Operation teams, including Area/Plant Managers, Supervisors, and Plant Operators.

Field Engagement: Conduct visits and inspections of production facilities across the division. Cultivate relationships and gain insights into our operational facilities. Educate, mentor, and communicate strategies for operational enhancements. Expect to spend 50-70% of your time in the field.

Support Team Efforts: Collaborate with division process control engineers to maintain and enhance existing plant automation systems. Assist division engineering in evaluating capital improvement projects. Support division management in initiatives aimed at improving key performance indicators.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience of 5 years in the aggregate sector with hands-on production plant operations experience.

Essential Skills:

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including proficiency in presenting and speaking in group environments. Capable of conveying complex information clearly and positively. Candidates will be expected to train, mentor, and advocate for operational concepts at various levels within the operations team.

Operational Knowledge: Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of aggregate characteristics and plant configurations to assess how changes could affect the plant's capacity to meet customer and regulatory requirements. Experience in operating a plant and familiarity with common production equipment is advantageous.

Time Management: Must demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Should thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that necessitates complex technical decision-making. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight; self-motivated and highly organized.

Plant Optimization Expertise: Familiarity with plant optimization technologies. Understanding of PID loops and instrumentation such as level sensors, scales, VFDs, etc.

Planning Skills: Ability to foresee, plan, and coordinate projects. Must be capable of proactively considering hypothetical scenarios and developing contingency strategies.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to drive a pickup truck regularly. Should be physically capable of walking and navigating production facilities.
