About the Role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellow in Pediatric Cardiovascular Medicine will provide high-quality patient care, education, and research opportunities at Duke University Hospital. This fellowship program is designed for recent graduates of Physician Assistant (PA) or Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (PNP-AC) programs.

Job Summary
The APP Fellow will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct patient care services for newborn congenital heart patients, surgical patients, and medically ill pediatric heart center patients from birth to young adults. The fellow will participate in daily rounds, assess patients, diagnose, plan treatment, set priorities, and evaluate patient care outcomes.

Educational Objectives
The goals of this fellowship program include acquiring a deep understanding of common congenital heart anomalies and disease processes, developing differential diagnoses, and implementing evidence-based medical care. The fellow will also learn practice management, develop verbal skills, and become a key part of the inpatient healthcare delivery team.

Responsibilities
The APP Fellow will be responsible for providing clinical care, performing procedures, conducting educational programs, participating in research activities, and consulting with other healthcare providers. The fellow will also contribute to the development of standards of care, protocols, and guidelines for the management of specific problems within their area of specialization.
