About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Penn State Health Heart and Vascular Institute. The successful candidate will have strong clinical skills and experience in caring for cardiac surgery patients. They will also be able to work effectively as part of a team, providing high-quality patient care and supporting the surgeons and other healthcare professionals in the operating room.

  • This is a full-time position with a regular schedule and opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • The APP will work closely with the cardiothoracic surgeons to provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing thoracic surgery.
  • They will also assist with procedures and surgeries in the operating room, using their advanced training and skills to support the surgical team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • National Certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a cardiothoracic surgery environment, with expertise in caring for complex patients.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field, with Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
