As a Project Engineer Intern, you will support your Project Manager on various assignments and serve as the crucial link between the field operations and the office environment.

In this capacity, the Project Engineer Intern is tasked with establishing the project's goals by planning, executing, and concluding projects in accordance with the timeline while adhering to budgetary constraints.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

Key Responsibilities:


Establish relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and suppliers to foster a collaborative approach and lay the groundwork for a successful career in the construction sector.

Collaborate with the superintendent to monitor materials; maintain positive relationships with suppliers for tracking, coordination, and project close-out.
Champion the Helix safety culture by monitoring and promoting jobsite safety and accident prevention.
Participate in the Change Order process and gain exposure to Accubid to assist with cost estimation.
Work alongside the project team to review subcontract agreements to gain insights into the scope of work and project pricing.
Engage in material and equipment procurement activities.
Collaborate closely with the BIM department and actively participate in the coordination and planning processes.
Produce and maintain comprehensive job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
Gain exposure to and monitor quality control processes.
Manage labor schedules by closely coordinating with superintendents and project managers.
Initiate and order prefabricated assemblies to aid in planning and timely delivery.
Visit job sites, learn the trade thoroughly, and utilize knowledge to enhance overall company performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program such as Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.

Prior experience in construction or internships is preferred.
Highly driven with a proactive approach.
Basic mathematical skills with the ability to compute and analyze data.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Good organizational capabilities.
Able to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
A commitment to continuous improvement of departmental processes.

The starting hourly base pay for this role is $21 USD.
