Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Officer I to join our team at the Baltimore Police Department. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating contracts for the purchase of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze procurement plans to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best possible prices and terms.
  • Process requisitions for the purchase of goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, and City agency personnel.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience in procurement, including procurement planning, contract development, negotiation, and administration.
  • Specialized expertise in the procurement of professional services, information technology, utilities, building services, equipment, or commodities.
  • Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
Working Conditions

This position requires moderate supervision and works a conventional workweek. Work is performed in an office setting with minimal physical exertion.
