Role Overview
The Rivian Service team is in search of driven and outstanding Senior Procurement professionals to enhance Rivian's Service Procurement capabilities. In this pivotal role, the Senior Procurement Manager will oversee the sourcing and management of components integral to the R1T, R1S, and Electric Delivery Vehicles, as well as off-vehicle initiatives, focusing initially on commodities such as Propulsion, Thermal, and Low Voltage. As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will lead all Service-related aspects of new business awards, cultivate robust supplier partnerships, and collaborate closely with our engineering teams to advance our technical specifications. You will also be instrumental in ensuring Rivian meets its cost objectives, that suppliers adhere to our ambitious timelines, and that components are delivered with the utmost quality. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Service NPI within the Technical Service Organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a framework to drive negotiations and sourcing strategies for Service materials.
- Oversee the strategic sourcing process, ensuring alignment between products and suitable suppliers while collaborating with the technical Service team.
- Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers, covering Non-disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Service Pricing, and Lifetime Support post-production.
- Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and create a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders, considering market dynamics and technology advancements.
- Conduct thorough assessments of supplier quotes, balancing costs with business requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance indicators, plant audits, and technical evaluations.
- Collaborate closely with Service Technical Program Management to monitor sourcing progress, execute product launches, and manage timelines for product introduction.
- Promote Rivian's core values within the marketplace.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing, particularly in propulsion, low voltage, or thermal sectors.
- At least 3 years of experience leading RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
- 3+ years of experience managing commercial relationships with automotive suppliers.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience negotiating and managing Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills to dissect complex issues and data sets to derive actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Capability to comprehend Engineering and Design directives and provide targeted supply chain solutions.
- Experience in automotive, electronic, or consumer product design and manufacturing.
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $98k - $123k (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
