Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Purchasing Manager to accelerate the growth of our Service Procurement excellence. As a key member of our Technical Service Organization, you'll be responsible for sourcing and managing parts that make up the building blocks of our R1T, R1S, and Electric Delivery Vehicles. You'll work closely with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements and ensure that our suppliers deliver high-quality parts on time.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement a strategic sourcing strategy to drive negotiations and sourcing decisions for Service materials.
- Lead the strategic sourcing process, ensuring that products are matched with the right suppliers and that they deliver high-quality products on time.
- Manage contractual negotiations with suppliers on Non-disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Service Pricing, and Lifetime Support post-production.
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze their capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap for Rivian stakeholders.
- Perform detailed assessments of supplier quote submissions, considering costs and business needs.
- Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics, plant audits, and technical reviews.
- Collaborate with Service Technical Program Management to track sourcing progress, execute product kick-offs, and manage progress towards product launch events.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- 3+ years of experience leading RFI/RFP/RFQ processes.
- 3+ years of managing commercial business relationships with automotive suppliers.
- 3+ years of experience with MS Office.
- Experience negotiating and managing Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills to break down complex problems and data sets.
- Ability to work independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with automotive, electronic, or consumer products, and the design and manufacture thereof.
Salary Range for California-Based Applicants: $98k - $123k (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
