Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at MercyOne.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a clinical setting and be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor patient appointments and procedures
  • Manage patient information and medical histories
  • Process patient claims and obtain reimbursement
  • Perform procedural and diagnostic coding
  • Conduct inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance of administrative and clinical equipment
  • Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control
  • Comply with established risk management and safety procedures
  • Screen and follow up patient test results
  • Collect and process patient specimens
  • Perform diagnostic tests
  • Obtain patient history and vital signs
  • Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas
  • Prepare and assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program
  • Certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Previous experience as a CMA in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional manner and image
  • Initiative and responsibility
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
  • Adaptability to change
