Dental Assistant
Reports to: Dental Director
Job Summary: Approximately 10% of responsibilities are to run the sterilization room, processing instruments for all 6 treatment rooms. 10% will be cleaning and setting up two treatment rooms for the Staff Dentist. 80% will be chairside assistance with the Dentist by preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials and supplies. All procedures are to be completed in compliance with HMC's Infection Prevention Policies, and HMC's HIPPA policy.
Specific Duties:
- Openly communicates with other Dental Assistants to mutually agree who will be responsible for the Daily Opening and Closing of the Dental Clinic. If Dental Assistants cannot mutually agree who will be responsible for the Daily Opening and Closing of the Dental Clinic, the Dental Director will assign opening and closing responsibilities equally between the two HMC Dental Assistants.
Opening Duties:
- Turns on Vacuum and Compressor
- Turns on Pano/ 3D CBCT Machine
- Changes out drying towels in the Sterilization center daily
- Washes hands before starting work in the dental clinic
- Works with other DA's to ensure quarterly shocks (dental lines) and monthly shocks (cavitrons) are completed according to manufacturer's instructions for use.
