Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in strategic planning and support for the maintenance department, ensuring that equipment and machinery operate at peak efficiency. This position collaborates closely with other department managers to facilitate maintenance functions with minimal disruption to operations, prioritizing customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment and facility maintenance, ensuring employee safety, managing schedules, payroll, and fostering employee morale.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote a safe working environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  2. Ensure the quality and safety of the plant's output.
  3. Foster high morale among maintenance team members.
  4. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety policies.
  5. Monitor adherence to labor guidelines regarding working hours.
  6. Maintain standard operating procedures and visual management practices.
  7. Conduct performance evaluations for team members.
  8. Understand and execute essential maintenance functions.
  9. Oversee the condition of all equipment and facilities.
  10. Uphold the company’s Code of Conduct.
  11. Perform maintenance tasks as needed.
  12. Troubleshoot and maintain both mechanical and electrical processing equipment.
  13. Identify potential issues and take preventive measures.
  14. Minimize unplanned downtime through proactive monitoring and problem-solving.
  15. Work with the Maintenance Manager to create and adjust maintenance schedules.
  16. Coordinate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities do not disrupt production.
  17. Assist in efficient equipment start-up and adjustments.
  18. Perform necessary building maintenance and repairs.
  19. Document maintenance activities accurately.
  20. Weld and fabricate machinery as required.
  21. Maintenance tasks may include but are not limited to:
    1. Irrigation systems
    2. Conveyor mechanisms
    3. Control systems
    4. Pneumatic systems
    5. Frequency drives
    6. Hydraulic and electrical machinery
    7. Refrigeration systems
    8. Electronic control systems
  22. Adhere to all company policies, GMPs, and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  1. Limited Maintenance Electrician License is preferred but not mandatory.
  2. Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous.
  3. Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  4. Proficient in writing reports and creating procedures.
  5. Effective communication skills for presentations to groups.
  6. Strong problem-solving abilities in complex situations.
  7. Capability to make informed decisions with limited information.
  8. Ability to interpret various forms of instructions.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic understanding of MRP systems.

Working Conditions:

  1. Exposure to wet and humid environments.
  2. Potential exposure to loud noise levels.
  3. Proximity to equipment with extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical currents.
  4. Ability to work in environments with allergens.
  5. Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
