About the Role

MWH Constructors is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to support a large-scale water pipeline project in the Portland, OR area. This project aims to supply 135 million gallons of water a day to the Portland community by Fall 2028.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of delivery, including shop drawing and RFI management, As Built maintenance, contract management, change management, quality management, and issues management. The Project Engineer must ensure work is performed in accordance with the contract documents and other engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage RFIs and submittals, ensuring clarity and accuracy in accordance with contract documents.
  • Analyze subcontractor and manufacturer's submittals against contract documents, exercising discretion to determine if a proffered substitution is sufficiently comparable for approval.
  • Conduct thorough technical reviews of submittals, identifying deviations from project requirements and coordinating with relevant parties to address and resolve issues.
  • Provide support to Trade Package Project Managers and Site Superintendents, ensuring timely completion and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with the Program Quality team to ensure quality activities are planned, executed, and documented according to contract requirements.
Requirements
  • BS degree in engineering required.
  • 2+ years of experience in project engineering or field engineering.
  • Prior pipeline project experience.
  • Familiarity with reading contract drawings and specifications, and basic construction principles and practices.
