Role Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to oversee the distribution of supplies and materials across all logistics-supported areas.
Key Responsibilities:
As a leader, you will supervise a team of three or more GS-2005 personnel in the distribution sector, ensuring that wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage sites, and other healthcare facilities receive necessary supplies and materials. Your duties will encompass:
- Scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing, and distributing medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and other materials.
- Assigning and balancing workloads among team members based on established workflows.
- Monitoring the progress of tasks and making necessary adjustments to meet priorities.
- Maintaining knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, as well as inventory systems.
- Conducting inventory checks using bar code technology and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensuring compliance with aseptic principles and infection control guidelines.
- Coordinating with clinical and administrative staff, as well as external vendors, to address supply management needs.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a standard schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Telework is not available for this role.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a valid state-issued driver's license and be a U.S. citizen. Applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Specialized Experience:
Applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal service, which includes:
- Providing supplies and materials to various clinical and administrative areas.
- Utilizing automated systems for inventory management.
- Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and expiration dates.
- Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas according to established standards.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing and walking throughout the workday, along with frequent lifting and moving of supply packages, some weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be prepared to work in various environments, including those that may be hot, cold, or poorly lit.
