About the Role:
Contribute your lived experience and expertise to empower individuals in their recovery journey. Facilitate effective system navigation, promote self-directed recovery, and support self-advocacy and empowerment. Your service will emphasize safety, self-worth, growth, connection to community, planning, and social supports.
Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent required.
- Certificate of successful completion of Nebraska approved Peer Support Core Curriculum Training required.
- Self-Identifies as having lived experience as an individual with a mental health/substance use disorder or as a parent/care-giver to a child with a mental health/substance use disorder required.
- Demonstrated successful full or part-time, paid or voluntary work experience within the past 12 months preferred.
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- Certified Peer Support Wellness Specialist (CPSWS) or Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) in accordance with the certification described by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Behavioral Health preferred.
