Forensic Interview Specialist

Project Harmony is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Forensic Interviewer to join our team. As a Forensic Interviewer, you will play a critical role in conducting legally sound, recorded interviews of children suspected to have been abused, neglected, or a witness to violence.
Responsibilities:- Conduct forensic interviews with alleged child abuse victims
- Prepare for court proceedings and provide expert testimony
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss case details and develop strategies for support
- Meet with non-offending caregivers to discuss the interview process and provide support
- Prepare summaries of each forensic interview conducted
- Responsible for secure storage of interview files
- Perform intake functions for referrals from law enforcement and Child Protective Services
- Conduct regular peer reviews with local and regional peers
- Rotate on-call responsibilities
- May involve supervision of student interns and practicum students
- Provide referrals to treatment and community services
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams for investigations and treatment of child abuse
- Master's degree in social work, clinical counseling, or related field
- Training and/or experience interviewing children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or trauma
- Extensive training/experience in child welfare and juvenile justice systems
- Previous professional experience related to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases
- Previous experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Previous experience interviewing children about difficult topics
- Experience testifying in court on child welfare matters
- Knowledge and understanding of the forensic interview process
- Knowledge and understanding of family violence and child abuse dynamics
- Knowledge and understanding of child development and trauma impact
- Ability to testify effectively in civil and criminal court proceedings
- Ability to establish rapport with children who have experienced trauma
- Effective listening and communication skills
- Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts
- Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, and Outlook
- Knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity and ability to exhibit sensitivity
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with various professionals
