Heavy Equipment Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Repair Technician to join our team at Ameri-Force. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality repairs on heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble, and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment systems and components to ensure proper operation and identify areas for improvement.
- Effectively communicate with peers, leads, and other staff members to ensure seamless collaboration and problem-solving.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Utilize computer programs and online tools to access technical information and support.
- Perform assigned work within the communicated time quoted/flat rated.
- Conduct customer training in proper use of equipment as needed.
- Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times with minimal to no rework.
- Write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed on a daily basis.
- Follow contamination control and OSHA/MSHA rules and regulations.
- Guide/mentor/train technicians with less expertise in the repairs of machines and systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five to eight (5-8) years of experience in the repair of heavy equipment products.
- General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes/rigging equipment.
- Ability to provide accurate information to lead/supervisor for quoting.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Must be able to obtain a passing score for the crane qualification test performed by a qualified trainer for this position.
- Ability to work unsupervised efficiently and be part of a team environment.
- Must be able to pass the Lock Out / Tag Out & Forklift certification class provided by a qualified trainer for this position.
- Perform the position with pride in professionalism while following company code of conduct.
- Possess basic computer knowledge and ability to use service software required in position.
- Must have valid California Driver's License with a clean record.
- Shop Requirements: Valid California Class "C" driver's license.
- Field Requirements: Valid California Class "B" driver's license, if assigned vehicle is required.
- Furnish all hand tools required to repair, test, and diagnose hydraulic, air, power train, electrical, and electronic systems on equipment.
- Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
- Hands/arms operating equipment, hand and power tools.
- Lifting: Up to 50 lbs. daily, frequent exertion.
- Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools.
- Handling: Works with hands.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required for certain repair or maintenance work.
- Climbing: In and out of equipment.
- Vision: Reads work tickets, parts and service books and operates heavy equipment.
- Talking: Communicates via telecommunications, in writing, and in person.
- Sitting: Sits in equipment and in vehicles.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Hearing: Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and construction sites and to receive communication via telecommunications and in person.
