This role involves mentoring and guiding team members in the execution of high-quality TA while maintaining communication with the JBS client in accordance with established project protocols.

Core Responsibilities: The Specialist I is expected to have substantial professional experience in child welfare and a strong dedication to consumer-focused design, family and peer involvement, and the delivery of TA. A thorough understanding of the project's strengths-based, culturally-sensitive, and ongoing TA model is essential for achieving successful outcomes over time.

  • Take a leading role in planning and executing TA, including both in-person and virtual training sessions on child welfare subjects.
  • Identify common challenges faced by multiple grantees and devise comprehensive TA strategies to address these issues.
  • Create and manage online resource repositories focused on specific child welfare topics.
  • Ensure smooth logistical planning and execution of both in-person and virtual TA events, such as learning communities and policy academies.
  • Foster and maintain productive working relationships with grantee staff.
  • Develop expertise in project management related to the planning and oversight of multiple concurrent TA events, including budgeting and client relationship management.
  • Conduct online surveys and manage information requests from grantees, as well as maintain grantee databases.
  • Draft standard operating procedures and review technical content for compliance as needed.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, behavioral health, public health, business, leadership, human resources, or education.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including direct involvement in a government or public child welfare environment, with at least 3 years in a training or coaching capacity.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both oral and written.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods at a desk or computer workstation.
  • Regular use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Normal or corrected vision for reading documents and viewing computer screens.
  • Ability to hear and comprehend spoken information in person and over the phone.
  • Minimal lifting and carrying of light office supplies or documents may be necessary.
  • Capability to navigate the office environment to access equipment and files.
  • Ability to manage occasional stress related to deadlines and workloads.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: A Master's degree or higher.

Experience: Consulting experience with demonstrated expertise in public child welfare practices, including prevention, safety, permanency, and family well-being. Experience in hosting professional events on child welfare topics is advantageous.

Language Skills: Proficiency in a language other than English is preferred.
