Job Summary

The Associate Registrar for Curriculum and Scheduling is a key member of the Office of the Registrar, providing strategic leadership and oversight for curriculum, degree progress, and classroom scheduling. This role requires a strong understanding of academic policies and procedures, as well as excellent communication and management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the curriculum and scheduling unit, ensuring efficient use of campus-wide academic teaching space.
  • Oversee business processes and systems requirements for support of the curricular life-cycle, including student records and degree progress.
  • Partner with academic departments to produce and maintain the curriculum, term-by-term course offering information, and processes to support course enrollment for registration and degree progress.
  • Provide functional leadership and subject matter expertise for planning in the design, development, maintenance, refinement, enhancement, and deployment of academic processes and systems.
  • Champion the use of university-wide systems for common functions to improve data quality, eliminate shadow systems, and reduce maintenance efforts and/or costs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Seven or more years of relevant experience.
  • Expert knowledge of complex academic policies and procedures, including curriculum, registration, enrollment, degree progress/audit, classrooms, assessment, or scheduling.
  • Systems thinker with technical expertise and proficiency working with enterprise software platforms, integrated applications, and reporting tools.
  • Recognized managerial and supervisory ability, with a strong understanding of individual and cultural differences.
  • Expertise working with student and academic records, including student records privacy (FERPA) policy and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience working in student information systems such as Oracle PeopleSoft, GideonTaylor Forms, EMS, 25Live, or InfoSilem.
  • Experience in a decentralized Research 1 university.
