Job Title: Financial Specialist II

The Vermont Department of Health Business Office is seeking a skilled financial professional to join our Financial Services Team. This role will assist with accounts payable, receivable, employee payroll, and expenses. The position requires a hybrid work schedule with assigned duties that necessitate an in-office presence at the Waterbury State Office Complex multiple days a week.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with accounts payable, receivable, employee payroll, and expenses
  • Perform financial data analysis and reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial records and reports
  • Collaborate with the Financial Services Team to achieve financial goals
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and two years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical work involving accounting or financial records
  • OR Completion of a vocational/technical training program in business, office administration, financial support, or a related area and one year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical work involving accounting or financial records
  • OR Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration, or a related field
  • OR Two years of full-time college coursework in accounting, business administration, office administration, or a related field
  • OR One year of experience as a Financial Specialist I with the State of Vermont
