Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Benefits Programs Specialist to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a key member of our Benefits Service Center, you will play a critical role in determining eligibility for Vermonters for state and federally funded programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine eligibility for Vermonters for state and federally funded programs using multiple platforms and call center technology.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to applicants, responding to their inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate and efficient processing of applications.
  • Stay up-to-date on program requirements and changes, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Three (3) years or more of experience in a customer service environment, including regular use of computer programs and clerical work and data entry.
  • OR Bachelor's degree in a human service or financial field.
  • OR One (1) year or more of experience as a Benefits Programs Specialist Trainee.
