Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements HR policies, procedures, and programs to support the organization's mission and goals.
  • Supervises the recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes, ensuring a positive candidate and employee experience.
  • Collaborates with senior management to understand and align HR policies and practices with the agency's goals and strategy.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent acquisition, including identifying staffing and recruiting needs.
  • Partners with the IT Department to evaluate, implement, and maintain the organization's HRIS to streamline HR and payroll processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in previous experience working as an HR Leader supervising a team for at least five years.
  • Deep experience in key HR areas such as Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Total Rewards, and Employee Engagement.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, work well under pressure, and exercise high-level judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, or related field.
  • Human Resources and Coaching Certifications.
  • Project Management Training or Certification.
Work Environment

This is a full-time union position, 38 hours/week, Monday-Friday, with the ability to travel to different centers in New York City as needed.

Documentation of eligibility to work in the United States and passing background checks required by the Department of Health and Department of Education are required.

The pay range is commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, education, specialty, training, and budget.
