We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care as a Clinical Trials Research Nurse.

This role will perform clinical and administrative functions in support of the design, implementation, and management of clinical trials.

The successful candidate will work with a team of professionals who are passionate about contributing to the advancement of cancer science and treatment options.

The Opportunity:

MaineGeneral Health offers a unique opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team and contribute to the advancement of cancer science and treatment options.

The Clinical Trials Research Nurse will perform clinical and administrative functions in support of the design, implementation, and management of clinical trials.

The Role:

The Clinical Trials Research Nurse will follow good clinical practice guidelines (GCP) by safeguarding clinical trial integrity while adhering to protocol.

The successful candidate will ensure the safety of clinical research subjects, report adverse events, and manage drug accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject screening, recruitment, and enrollment for clinical trials
  • Proper consenting of study subjects and management of study participant activities
  • Detailed clinical assessments of study participants and coordination of clinical treatment, study visits, and follow-up care
  • Completion of case report forms (paper and electronic data capture)
  • Collection, processing, and shipment of laboratory specimens according to protocol documents

Requirements:

  • Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion
  • At least a year of nursing experience with oncology experience preferred
  • Research nurse experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
  • A high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • A passion for analyzing and applying guidance & protocol and a strong problem-solving ability
