We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join our Washington, D.C. office. The Asset Management team is responsible for maximizing financial and operational performance across our portfolio of institutional quality self storage properties.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the performance of an assigned portfolio of properties and will have the opportunity to gain considerable exposure to the full cycle of real estate investment, development, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute business plans to maximize profitability of individual properties in assigned portfolio
- Review financial reports, analyze budgets, and manage cash flows for assigned properties
- Identify financial and operational trends, patterns, and insights that can inform strategic decisions and enhance property performance
- Prepare comprehensive performance reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, detailing asset performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives
- Monitor self storage markets with a fundamental understanding of relevant industry trends and submarkets for assigned, including interest rate environment and overall economic conditions to assess ongoing risks and opportunities
- Prepare investment memoranda, transaction summaries, and presentation materials to support debt and equity fundraising efforts
- Support transaction management from due diligence through closing new acquisition
- Monitor loans for assigned properties including property performance tests, reporting requirements, extension and/or maturity dates, and other key loan terms
- Create presentation materials for investment committees, regular portfolio discussions, and updates for senior management and external investors
- Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets for assigned portfolio of properties
- 3+ years of progressive work experience in real estate asset management, capital markets, investor relations, or other relevant disciplines preferably with previous exposure to self storage
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative mentality with an unrelenting commitment to achieving ambitious goals
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to act with urgency in solving complex problems
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from planning through execution to completion
- Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills with strong ability to form and maintain professional relationships
- Proven ability to effectively manage an ongoing queue of multiple, critical projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable, proactive, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and unyielding integrity
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in real estate, business administration, finance, or related fields
