Job Title:

Information Technology Department Chair

Job Summary:

Georgia Gwinnett College invites applications for the Department Chair of Information Technology position. The department chair provides leadership for the department and works collaboratively with the faculty to meet the academic needs of students, and to foster excellence in programs, instruction, scholarly activity, student engagement, and service.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership for the department and work collaboratively with the faculty to meet the academic needs of students.
  • Foster excellence in programs, instruction, scholarly activity, student engagement, and service.
  • Manage course scheduling, budgets, personnel, and facilities.
  • Lead curriculum development and cultivate and maintain alumni relations.
  • Perform other department leadership functions as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in a computing discipline, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data and Information Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience and documented achievements appropriate for consideration of an appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
  • A record of effective teaching, service, student engagement, and scholarly activity within the candidate's area of specialization.
  • Relevant academic administrative experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least three years of academic leadership experience at the program level or higher.
