**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our team at the Georgia Department of Community Health. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs to students in the Surgical Technology program.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deliver effective individualized programs of instruction to class members, ensuring that students meet the program's performance indicators and progress schedule.
- Ensure adherence to technical college and safety requirements in classrooms and labs by following established procedures.
- Correctly assess the educational needs and class progress of students, selecting and obtaining appropriate educational materials for courses.
- Prepare reports on the current status of students in the program, indicating whether performance is aligned with performance indicators, program goals, and progress schedule.
- Ensure consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other appropriate materials.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences, and by reading professional literature in the related vocational field.
- Attend required number of hours of required training, participate in education meetings, workshops, etc., as requested, and attend internal and external educational programs and professional meetings that meet the requirements for continuing education in the assigned specialty area.
- Read professional literature and translate complex or technical information into a meaningful format that may be understood by others.
- Ensure certification meets all required organizational and accreditation policies and guidelines.
- Participate in advisory committees as requested.
- Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area, instruct students in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools, and ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.
- Ensure work-related projects are successfully completed and that they meet industrial standards.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an Associate's degree in the discipline plus relevant work experience.
- Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Postsecondary teaching experience.
**Working Conditions**
- This position requires moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another with or without reasonable accommodation.
