Georgia Gwinnett College is seeking a highly qualified Department Chair for the Information Technology department. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision for the department, working collaboratively with faculty to meet the academic needs of students and foster excellence in programs, instruction, scholarly activity, student engagement, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and vision for the Information Technology department
- Work collaboratively with faculty to meet the academic needs of students
- Foster excellence in programs, instruction, scholarly activity, student engagement, and service
- Manage course scheduling, budgets, personnel, and facilities
- Lead curriculum development and cultivate and maintain alumni relations
- Perform other department leadership functions as assigned
- Ph.D. in a computing discipline, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data and Information Science, or Computer Engineering
- Experience and documented achievements appropriate for consideration of an appointment at the rank of Full Professor
- Record of effective teaching, service, student engagement, and scholarly activity within the candidate's area of specialization
- Relevant academic administrative experience
- At least three years of academic leadership experience at the program level or higher
