Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team at Bethel Farms. This role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of machinery essential for agricultural operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Primary Duties:
  • Reassemble and test machinery after repairs, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Utilize various tools to replace or repair defective components.
  • Conduct tests and replace electrical systems and wiring as needed.
  • Transport tools and equipment for machinery maintenance using company vehicles.
  • Fabricate metal components with precision using machine tools.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts utilized, and labor hours.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, and repair tasks on sheet metal.
  • Dismantle machinery to diagnose and resolve malfunctions.
  • Oversee the repair of irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.
  • Ensure the upkeep and repair of farm vehicles and machinery.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential Knowledge:
  • Understanding of agricultural safety protocols and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.
Required Skills:
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery for faults and malfunctions.
  • Capable of determining repair needs and executing necessary adjustments.
  • Proficient in testing repaired equipment and performing maintenance.
  • Skilled in servicing tools and attachments, showcasing problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to documentation.
  • Strong time management, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure.
Physical Requirements:

The role necessitates performing various physical tasks, including lifting heavy items and operating machinery, with specific vision capabilities.

Equipment Utilized:

Farm vehicles, hand tools, drills, grinders, and other essential repair tools.

Work Environment:

This position involves moderate physical demands and exposure to diverse environmental conditions while working both indoors and outdoors.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required, up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic, specifically with agricultural machinery.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is preferred.
  • Possession of personal tools is necessary.
  • Certification or licensing in relevant fields is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated skills in mechanical aptitude, physical strength, and troubleshooting.
