Inventory Manager

Restaurant Depot, a leading wholesale national restaurant supplier, is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Controller to join our team in San Francisco. As an Inventory Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient management of our inventory levels, monitoring stock movement, and reducing carrying costs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory control, including product rotation, shrink, cycle counts, gross margin percentage calculations, markups/markdowns, and other related tasks. Experience in a retail supermarket environment and/or big box store is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be a multi-tasking individual with excellent customer service skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. They will also be a self-starter, quick learner, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
The Inventory Controller position often serves as a backup for senior store management and requires flexible scheduling, as we are open 7 days a week. We offer a competitive salary, benefits, and 401-k plan to our employees.
Responsibilities:- Supervise daily activities of the picking and loading management within a cold storage facility.
- Monitor and ensure accurate execution of processes to meet operational goals, considering the challenges of cold storage.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor supervisors, and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to address performance issues and ensure professional growth.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and evaluate the distribution center's productivity and efficiency in a cold storage context.
- Identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and develop action plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Logistics team to manage inventory levels, monitor stock movement, and reduce carrying costs, taking into account the challenges of cold storage.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, especially within the unique cold storage environment.
- Promote a safe working environment by enforcing proper safety protocols and conducting regular safety training.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer service within a cold storage context.
- Implement best practices, technology solutions, and automation to drive process improvements.
