Rutland Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Coordinator to join our team. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient scheduling for elective and urgent appointments, working closely with Prior Authorization staff to ensure necessary authorizations are in place.
  • Pre-register patients by collecting demographic and insurance information for both outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Notify patients of pertinent visit information, including patient preps and check-in times.
  • Focus on patient needs, efficient use of hospital resources, and optimization of insurance benefits for the patient and the organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years prior registration/scheduling experience.
  • 3rd party payer experience preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Demonstrated typing ability of 40 wpm.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated logic and critical thinking for problem resolution.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.

Compensation

$25.41 per hour.
