Job Overview

Position: Pharmacist - AFA

As a vital member of the AFA Pharmacy team, the Pharmacist plays a crucial role in managing pharmacy operations to ensure an exceptional patient experience. This position is dedicated to providing high-quality care and leading essential operational initiatives at AFA Pharmacy. Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly review and verify prescription orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct clinical utilization assessments and implement quality control measures to ensure safe medication dispensing.
  • Provide consultations and respond to medication-related inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Oversee pharmacy operations by managing the workflow of pharmacy technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as mandated by relevant authorities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a high-volume pharmacy setting.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to utilize data for informed decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about the mission of expanding healthcare access.
  • Must possess a valid pharmacist license in Texas.
  • All prospective pharmacy employees must pass a drug screening.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity and range of motion sufficient for keyboard and telephone use.
  • Effective communication skills for in-person interactions.
  • Visual acuity for computer monitor usage.
  • Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift weights of 50-60 lbs.
