Position Summary:

The Operations Manager at BestDrive is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of a retail outlet. This role involves directing operations, enhancing customer service, driving sales, boosting profitability, and fostering business growth. As the primary point of contact at the location, the Operations Manager will manage both operational and personnel aspects. This position requires collaboration with the sales team to engage local fleets and tire users, promoting new tires, retreads, and tire services. Essentially, you will be managing a small business with the robust support of a reputable company and brand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily operations, manage staff, and oversee inventory.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining the financial health of the business.
  • Achieve annual and monthly sales targets to ensure profitability.
  • Safeguard assets within your area of responsibility, including inventory and equipment, with a focus on reducing operational costs.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate team members.
  • Utilize the existing business operating system for billing and sales management.
  • Maintain acceptable profit margins.
  • Support staff performance through coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations.
  • Perform various manual tasks, including lifting and moving commercial tires and wheels.
  • Manage safety, health, and environmental protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop effective sales strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Engage with commercial truck tire accounts in the local area.
  • Conduct regular sales calls and follow-ups with existing accounts.
  • Assist in quarterly inventory management while ensuring product security.
  • Be available for rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience in the tire industry.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this position.

Preferred:

  • College Degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in the tire industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in leadership roles.
  • 3+ years in retail tire sales.
  • TIA Certification.
  • Knowledge of retread tires.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, with potential for Saturday and evening shifts.
  • Work is conducted in various indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, climb, lift, and walk.
  • Must handle hazardous materials and comply with safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs routinely, with occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
