POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Bilingual English Language Support Paraeducator plays a vital role in enhancing the English Language Development (ELD) program by providing assistance to students and collaborating with educational staff. This role involves working closely with the ELD supervisor and subject area educators to facilitate effective English language and content instruction. The Paraeducator will support ELD students in their cultural integration and aid in the translation and interpretation of materials. *Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.

  • The hourly wage for the ELD Paraeducator is $19, along with 21 hours of paid time off (PTO), prorated based on the start date.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
  • Middle School: Monday through Friday from 7:10 AM to 2:40 PM
  • High School: Monday through Friday from 7:15 AM to 2:45 PM
  • Elementary Level: Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  • Completion of two years of post-secondary education (48 credits) or an Associate's degree.
  • Experience in public education and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed or certified environment is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are preferred.
  • Ability to effectively engage with students, staff, and the community.
CREDENTIALS:

(Clearances must be current within 12 months)
  • PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
  • PA Criminal Clearance (Act 34)
  • FBI Clearance through the PA Department of Education - Use code 1KG6XN
  • Current TB Screening (within 3 months)
  • Education Documentation - Diploma or Official Transcripts
