About the Role

The Scripps Research Institute is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager, Accounts Payable to lead our AP team in driving efficiency, accuracy, and strategic financial management. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the Institute's Accounts Payable functions, developing strategies to streamline processes, and ensuring timely settlement of obligations.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee operations of the Accounts Payable team and related processes to ensure compliance with SOX regulations and minimize financial and operational risk.
  • Develop and implement measurable key metrics for areas of responsibility and drive team achievement of metric-based goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including team members, management, and external partners.
  • Support and encourage team development, evaluate performance, and implement change to improve productivity and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of Accounts Payable experience, with a minimum of 7 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles, supplier enablement, Workday, ACH, corporate credit card programs, and e-invoicing.
  • Knowledge of State Tax and Usage Laws, IRS regulations for 1099 and W-2 reporting, and SAS115 and Internal Controls for non-profit organizations.
