With our headquarters in Asheville, NC, and additional offices in Fayetteville, NC, and Lexington, SC, we have successfully installed 8 GW of solar infrastructure nationwide and employ approximately 700 professionals.
Position Summary
This role involves operating various heavy machinery, specifically designed for solar project applications, including but not limited to backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, and post drivers.
Key Duties
- Safely operate post-driver equipment, including PD10's and GRT's, for driving posts in solar installations.
- Utilize hand and foot controls to position post leads, hoist posts, and align hammers over posts.
- Engage levers and valves to activate power hammers or adjust drop hammers for precise post placement.
- Drive posts to support structures using heavy machinery equipped with post driver heads.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
- Maintain and service equipment to ensure optimal operating conditions.
- Adhere to safety regulations and protocols.
- Document material or equipment usage and any issues encountered.
- Complete necessary pre-operational checklists and safety inspections.
Essential Qualifications
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and safety standards while effectively using relevant tools and equipment.
- Demonstrated experience: 2 years for Level I, 3 years for Level II, and 4 years for Level III.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for the workplace.
Physical Requirements
- The work environment and physical demands are representative of those encountered while performing essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
- This position requires Heavy Work: exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers for handling, lifting, and reaching; push and pull; climb; stoop; kneel; crouch; talk; see clearly; and hear.
- Work is primarily outdoors, involving exposure to extreme temperatures, inclement weather, and noise.
- Willingness to travel extensively across various locations and work extended hours as needed.
- Must possess the stamina to perform duties for up to 12 hours daily, as per the schedule.
- Punctuality and readiness to work at the start of each shift are essential.
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, harnesses, ear protection, and fire-retardant clothing as required.

This position is classified as Safety-Sensitive, which includes responsibilities related to operating company machinery, vehicles, and working at field locations.
