Clinical Laboratory Supervisor 2

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Histocompatibility Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of laboratory professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of all tests conducted within the laboratory, and maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and train laboratory staff to ensure they possess the requisite skills and knowledge to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
- Oversee the technical operations of the laboratory, enforcing standard operating procedures and research methods.
- Ensure the laboratory meets quality assurance standards and maintains compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership and clinicians to prioritize laboratory work and align activities with the needs and objectives of the healthcare facility.
- Perform high-complexity tests essential for histocompatibility assessment and transplantation compatibility, including HLA typing, antibody testing, and crossmatching.
- Monitor the availability and functionality of reagents, ensuring that resources are adequately stocked and performing within the laboratory's stringent quality standards.
- Review data and scrutinize results to ensure accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Oversee the release of reports for tests conducted within the laboratory, ensuring that findings are conveyed accurately and effectively to relevant clinicians.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
- California Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license or equivalent.
- Lead/Supervisory/Manager experience.
- Strong knowledge of the genetics of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system and experience in performing clinical histocompatibility testing.
- Ability to organize assigned staff and laboratory operations in an efficient and effective manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
