Position Title: Relief Chef Manager

Compensation: $30.00 per hour

Service Area: DC, Northern VA, Charlottesville-Richmond, Baltimore Beltway, Annapolis

The Relief Chef Manager will be assigned to various units as directed by their supervisor. This role is pivotal in overseeing and enhancing food service operations at designated locations. This is a full-time management role that necessitates complete travel with mileage reimbursement. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have access to their own vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume all duties of a Chef Manager, including staff management, menu creation, procurement, receiving, daily administrative tasks, cash handling, customer relations, and catering services.
  • Focus on creating scratch menus with a strong understanding of seasonal ingredients, delivering high-quality, fresh meal options.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree or certification is preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in corporate dining or high-end catering.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in culinary staff training and development.
  • Experience with various culinary programs emphasizing scratch cooking.
  • ServSafe Certification and Allergen Awareness certification are required.
  • Effective communication skills, both professionally and clearly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Compliance with client and company COVID-19 safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift and move food and containers weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time and provide personal transportation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver top-quality scratch cooking with a focus on contemporary trends and international cuisines.
  • Oversee ordering, inventory management, cash handling, and reporting.
  • Organize and execute food preparation for all meal services.
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, delegating tasks and resolving issues as necessary.
  • Foster a positive team environment.
  • Incorporate sustainable practices into daily operations.
  • Implement and uphold HACCP standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
