Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The front desk serves as the initial and final point of contact for members and potential members as they enter and exit the facility. Exceptional customer service is essential in welcoming and assisting individuals, ensuring a positive experience. This role is crucial in maintaining a clean and secure environment by verifying membership credentials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acting as the main customer service hub for the facility, which includes greeting all members and visitors, addressing inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate departments.
  • Managing incoming calls, including answering inquiries, transferring calls, and taking messages.
  • Coordinating personal training sessions as directed by the Personal Training Sales Director.
  • Screening and authorizing member access through identification and account verification, as well as registering guests in accordance with established policies.
  • Promoting club services, products, and events through active engagement with members and guests.
  • Ensuring a tidy and professional front desk area, while also assisting with the upkeep of other facility areas as necessary.
  • Maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and forms, and notifying supervisors of low stock levels.
  • Participating in mandatory meetings and training sessions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in CPR and First Aid (must obtain certification within the first 60 days of employment if not already certified).
  • Consistently display a professional and positive demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in using basic office equipment (e.g., fax machines, copiers, multi-line phone systems).
  • Previous experience in a customer service role (e.g., food service, retail).
  • Basic computer skills; experience with cash registers is advantageous.
  • Friendly and approachable personality.
  • Genuine interest in the fitness and wellness industry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

In this role, employees will frequently be required to walk and stand for extended periods, as well as sit for prolonged durations. Exposure to cleaning agents and airborne particles may occur, and the use of designated personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Employees may occasionally need to use their hands for various tasks, reach, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and may need to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
