Job Title: Branch Operations Manager - Banking Experience Required

Reports to: Branch Administration

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary Grade: NE20

Supervisory Role: Yes

SUMMARY:

The Branch Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing the daily functions and efficient management of a full-service branch, which encompasses operations, lending, product sales, customer service, and safety protocols in alignment with the Bank's objectives. This role involves generating new deposit and loan business, delivering exceptional customer relations, and fostering a sales-oriented culture through effective coaching and staff motivation. The manager is responsible for achieving branch sales targets through new business development, referrals, and maintaining account relationships. Leadership, training, and supervision are key components of this role, along with delegating daily tasks to branch personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all customer service inquiries within the branch.
  • Open a cash drawer in the absence of the Associate Banker.
  • Meet referral, account, and retention objectives.
  • Enhance branch identity, drive sales, and foster accountability for customer service and branch performance.
  • Implement and manage new products or initiatives, including sales promotions and incentive programs, while encouraging staff engagement for growth.
  • Originate consumer loans.
  • Supervise Universal Banker and Associate Bankers.
  • Provide recommendations on staffing decisions, including promotions and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct training on bank policies and procedures; facilitate regular team meetings.
  • Ensure security measures are in place to mitigate risks and protect against fraudulent activities.
  • Maintain communication with management through regular updates and participation in staff meetings.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the bank's products, services, and promotions.
  • Deliver quality customer service through direct interactions with clients and prospects, adhering to company policies.
  • Resolve customer issues effectively, whether in person or via phone.
  • Review and authorize requests such as large check cashing and various reports.
  • Strive to meet branch performance standards in operational controls and compliance.
  • Enhance knowledge of banking principles and sales techniques through ongoing training and education.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience in banking.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Cash handling experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in small teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience in banking.

POSITION TYPE AND HOURS:

This is a full-time role. Work hours are scheduled around the branch's operational hours.

TRAVEL:

Occasional travel may be required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Proficiency in the primary language(s) used in the workplace is required; bilingual skills are advantageous. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business information is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Employees must be able to lift 10 to 20 lbs, stand for extended periods, and have the dexterity to handle cash and operate office equipment.
