Position Overview:

The Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing departmental performance. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and enhancing the operational efficiency of machinery. The specialist acts as a liaison between maintenance personnel and engineering teams to ensure optimal equipment functionality in production settings. A structured maintenance program will be established and meticulously maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to define project scopes, including requirements, milestones, deliverables, and documentation expected from external vendors.
  • Formulate best practices aimed at enhancing equipment capacity, quality, and reliability.
  • Devise operational strategies to meet energy efficiency and financial goals.
  • Create planning standards and procedures to uphold effective preventive maintenance (PM) and total productive maintenance (TPM) processes, alongside robust measures to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Ensure equipment availability, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) through informed planning and execution.
  • Verify that advanced technical equipment adheres to specified requirements and quality benchmarks.
  • Assess current production operations and initiate improvement measures.
  • Investigate intricate issues, conduct root cause analyses, and develop effective solutions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Provide training and support to junior engineers and team members as needed.
  • Contribute to budget formulation and monitor financial performance.
  • Engage in regular team meetings to discuss progress and strategies.
  • Lead and manage medium-scale projects from inception to completion, with potential involvement in larger capital investment initiatives.
  • Conduct repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of production machinery in collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure compliance with process specifications.
  • Coordinate activities related to maintenance with third-party contractors and suppliers.
  • Stay updated on product specifications, engineering advancements, and production methodologies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Skills and Expertise:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in an automotive context, with exposure to:
  • PLC systems, such as Siemens S7 Tia Portal.
  • 3D CAD software, including SolidWorks, Catia, or Siemens NX.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and computer-controlled systems.
  • Familiarity with process devices, including motor drives, sensors, and conveyors.
  • Experience in paint applications and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of joining technologies and fluid systems.
  • Proficiency in project management and equipment installation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Capability to read and create technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Able to perform essential job functions efficiently.
