Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and specification of electrical systems, including wiring lists, schematics, circuit boards, and control components for ultra-precision, computer numerically controlled machine tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and engineer innovative electrical systems tailored to meet customer specifications.
- Enhance and advance AMETEK's core technologies.
- Create detailed panel layouts, wiring run lists, bills of materials (BOMs), and build instructions while selecting appropriate components.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical noise, transients, controllers, servo systems, and motion controllers.
- Implement engineering changes in accordance with AMETEK's ECO process.
- Actively engage in product design reviews and collaborate with engineering teams to devise cost-effective solutions.
- Contribute to the development of written instructions and operational manuals for AMETEK's products.
- Supervise and direct third-party resources as needed.
- Manage technically challenging projects within a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely execution.
- Travel to customer locations as required, up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as signal generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are essential.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, employing a structured approach to generate timely solutions.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C or C++.
- Experience in designing systems compliant with CE standards.
- Knowledge in data acquisition and both analog and digital signal processing.
- Proficiency with amplifiers, filters, encoders, motion controllers, and feedback loops.
- Experience using Matlab for modeling, data analysis, and simulations.
