Position Overview:

As an Energy Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the operation and upkeep of boilers and auxiliary systems essential for generating heat and power within the organization. A solid grasp of mechanical principles is necessary to effectively troubleshoot, repair, and enhance equipment performance. Your role will encompass electrical tasks, mechanical repairs, and various maintenance responsibilities.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with the possibility of flexible per diem shifts.

Shift Differentials:

  • Weekend shift differential: + $2.00
  • Second shift differential: + $1.60
  • Third shift differential: + $5.50

Holiday pay is compensated at time and a half.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Trade school certification with three years of relevant experience, or five years of experience in boiler operations is preferred.
  • Experience in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades is required.
  • Familiarity with fire alarm systems and proficiency in using electronic devices, touchscreens, and building management systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities are essential.

Credentials: A valid driver's license is required.

Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in at least one of the following areas is necessary:

  • Boiler maintenance and repair
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems maintenance and repair

Additionally, candidates should possess a working knowledge of:

  • Basic organizational procedures
  • Power Plant Operations, including ventilation, air conditioning, electrical power distribution, plumbing, and medical gas systems
  • Safety engineering codes and personnel safety
  • Various mechanical and electrical measuring instruments
  • Welding techniques and materials

The ability to read blueprints and schematics, interpret instruments, prepare equipment specifications, analyze mechanical issues, instruct others, work independently, and respond promptly to urgent situations is essential.
