Job Summary

Corning is seeking a skilled Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Optics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and manufacturing world-class, high-precision electro-optical assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop custom precision electro-optical systems based on Keene's world-class precision machining core competency.
  • Support the design, assembly, integration, and test of electro-optical assemblies.
  • Develop and define processes and procedures required for electro-optical assembly production.
  • Train other engineers and operators on these processes.
Requirements
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Lasers, Optics, Systems, or similar.
  • 2+ years of direct work experience in relevant field.
  • Hands-on experience in aligning optomechanical assemblies and debugging electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, optical, and mechanical technical drawings.
  • Experience with typical electrical instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering equipment, etc.).
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to use experimentation to develop basic process knowledge, design prototype test systems, and perform proof of principle testing to validate systems.
  • Confidence in interaction with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to function on a product development team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
  • Basic understanding of geometrical optics.
  • Experience with LabVIEW.
  • Working knowledge of programming in platforms such as Python or MATLAB.
What We Offer

Corning offers a competitive salary range of $84,281.00 - $115,887.00, assuming full-time status. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
