Job Summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to electrical systems, including maintenance, repair, and installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems, including lighting and lighting control systems, motors, controls, and pumps.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and make necessary repairs.
  • Assist contractors and sub-contractors as needed.
  • Generate, retrieve, review, and maintain work orders.
  • Maintain paperwork, emails, invoicing for purchases to track credits pertaining to upgrades, purchases, and building assignments.
  • Order and pick up supplies.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm panels and distribution panels and equipment.
Requirements
  • State of NH journeyman electrical license.
  • Knowledge of applicable electric codes.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and hazards of the trade.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematic diagrams, and wire circuit drawings.
  • Ability to compute voltage, amperage, and resistance factors using simple algebraic formulas.
  • Ability to inspect equipment, determine malfunction, and make necessary repairs.
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
  • Post-offer, pre-employment physical exam required.
  • Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license and a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State of NH master electrical license.
  • Prior Maintenance/Service Electrician/troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to speak a second language or bring a multicultural perspective to the campus.
