Role Responsibilities

The Project Team Lead will be responsible for establishing and managing a high-performing engineering team to support a significant program or multiple smaller initiatives within our power and energy management and aircraft electrification sectors. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we meet our cost, schedule, and technical objectives as outlined in the program plan.

The PTL will coordinate and oversee engineering activities related to the assigned power and energy management program(s), ensuring compliance with established engineering practices and program commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to approved plans by participating in program control meetings, design reviews, and conducting process audits.
  • Review all technical modifications to requirements, analyzing their impact on schedule and budget while maintaining design integrity.
  • Monitor engineering metrics and provide technical support to program management.
  • Manage Design to Cost (DTC) initiatives and cost reduction efforts with technical experts in power and energy management.
  • Collaborate with functional engineering teams to ensure adequate staffing and execution of programs, approving engineering cost account manager assignments.
  • Assess changes to engineering costs, schedules, technical specifications, and risk baselines.
  • Work with Performance Excellence to adapt processes for projects and programs, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.

This position will follow a hybrid work model, combining onsite and remote work.

Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • At least three years of experience in Engineering Management or Project Leadership.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams of five or more members.

Required Skills:

  • Proven track record of achieving cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Ability to lead and inspire engineering teams effectively.
  • Strong capability to integrate and coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of experience in Controls engineering management or project leadership.
  • Experience leading projects in power and energy management or aircraft electrification.
  • Familiarity with IR&D development and production programs.
  • Experience managing larger engineering teams of twenty or more.
  • Experience with safety-critical projects and leading dispersed, multi-disciplinary teams.

The full-time salary range for this position is competitive and based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by various factors, including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
