Maintenance Team Lead

The Maintenance Supervisor is a key role within our manufacturing environment, responsible for leading a team to achieve injury-free/incident-free operations. This individual will provide direction and motivation to their team, ensuring the repair of plant equipment, minimizing downtime, and meeting safety goals. The ideal candidate will be driven to continually improve performance and adapt to changes that support the team and company's objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure a safety-first mindset, particularly when working with equipment and tools.
- Drive safety excellence by promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to eliminate hazards.
- Supervise and schedule full-time staff and temporary personnel as needed.
- Provide coaching, corrective feedback, and administer disciplinary processes as necessary.
- Perform quarterly and annual reviews for team members.
- Foster team development, employee skill growth, problem-solving, and resolution.
- Oversee process documentation and training program procedures for operational tasks, safety, and cleanliness.
- Construct fixtures as required.
- Create schedules and perform preventative maintenance and regular inspections on equipment.
- Repair facility equipment, fixtures, buildings, and grounds.
- Direct maintenance team members in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
- Order tools, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for repairs and maintenance.
- Remove and/or install fixtures and equipment for safe, efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to determine causes of failures and recommend solutions for repair.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and efficiency of maintenance equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to coach, develop, and build a strong team of employees.
- Strong listening and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented environment.
- Forklift and Crane Certification or ability to obtain is required.
- Welding skills preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to review and understand machine blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools and basic machine shop equipment.
- Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed.
- Minimum one year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- Must have experience in the maintenance field, at least 2 years is preferred.
- Must have previous supervisory or leadership experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical skills such as calculating percentages and volumes and using fractions.
