Job Overview

The Financial Accounting and Reporting division within McDonald's Global Business Services is seeking a dedicated Analyst to become a vital part of our team. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual to gain comprehensive insights into McDonald's real estate and franchisee accounting methodologies, while also acquiring a broad understanding of our global operations through engagement with consolidated financial accounting and reporting processes. The position is designed to enhance the candidate's analytical, communication, interpersonal, and project management capabilities.

Our primary stakeholders include the Corporate Controller Group, Global Business Services Leadership, market finance teams, Asset Management, Treasury, and both Internal and External Audit. This role requires a results-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills capable of managing multiple priorities to meet stringent financial close and reporting timelines. The fast-paced and evolving nature of our environment necessitates a candidate who can contribute to driving efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reviews and analyses regarding the implications of the lease accounting standard on McDonald's consolidated financial statements.
  • Serve as a business Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the leasing system, TRIRIGA, by identifying enhancements and addressing inquiries related to the monthly and quarterly close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with McDonald's policies concerning the technical accounting aspects of the leasing standard.
  • Perform and guarantee the accuracy of lease classification analyses for real estate portfolios across various markets.
  • Monitor and analyze the lease portfolio to ensure consistency, standardization, and reasonableness across different markets.
  • Prepare disclosures for external financial statements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the accounting sector and/or financial services, with preference for Big 4 public accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with Lease Accounting, particularly with the TRIRIGA Lease Accounting System, is advantageous.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
  • A results-driven mindset.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and innovative in identifying efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to quickly adapt to other necessary software applications.
