About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Human Resources Manager to join Upward On Inc, a dynamic National Real Estate Company with a diverse portfolio of commercial, office, and residential assets. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for leading and directing the routine functions of the HR department, including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, interview, and hire all staff, and train new staff within the HR department
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the HR department, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality service delivery
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations, helping employees grow and develop in their roles
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy, maintaining a fair and respectful work environment
  • Assist with corporate payroll processing for new hires, existing staff, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise, requiring a high level of expertise and discretion
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles, collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits, researching and proposing competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees, promoting growth and advancement
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, maintaining a fair and respectful work environment
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, reviewing policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law, staying up-to-date and informed
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the success and growth of Upward On Inc
Qualifications & Education Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and resolve complex issues
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, maintaining the trust and respect of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, with the ability to maintain compliance and ensure a fair and respectful work environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools
  • Experience with payroll processing and payroll software, with the ability to accurately and efficiently manage payroll operations
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required, with a minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and excellence in the field
