Job Description

The University of Southern Maine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Professional Development Programs to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive range of non-credit programming. The ideal candidate will possess strong training, development, and design skills, as well as excellent communication and marketing skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and market a wide spectrum of non-credit programs, including micro-credentials, CEUs, professional national or state certificates, and USM certificates.
  • Provide strategic consultation and offer a variety of course modalities to meet the development needs of the customer base.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to oversee the design and development of programs.
  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and a strategic mindset to imagine, create, and deliver programming that is responsive, timely, relevant, cost-effective, and generates revenue.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in leadership, human resources, sociology, adult and higher education, or related field.
  • Five years' experience in educational administration and adult programs planning.
  • Ability to provide own transportation and comply with Maine law regarding vehicle insurance.
