Role Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist will operate under the guidance of a physician, delivering critical respiratory therapy services and life support to individuals with cardiopulmonary deficiencies. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across various patient demographics and care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the validity of medical orders and interpret clinical data to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Set up and manage equipment, including mechanical ventilators and therapeutic gas delivery systems, ensuring adherence to treatment specifications.
  • Assist in the safe transport of patients requiring mechanical ventilation and respond promptly to emergency situations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documenting essential therapy information and coordinating necessary equipment repairs.
  • Evaluate patient conditions through arterial blood gas measurements and other diagnostic tools to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to therapy, including vital signs and laboratory results, and perform necessary therapeutic procedures.
  • Graduates from a CoARC accredited respiratory program are preferred, and temporary license holders may be considered with proper approvals.

Qualifications:

  • CPR certification in accordance with AHA standards is required within the initial onboarding period.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Certification as a Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) is required.
  • Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is necessary.
  • Clearances as per Acts 33, 34, and 73 are mandatory.
