Job Overview

General Overview:

The Civil Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction operations and managing field personnel to ensure the successful completion of projects within the designated timeline and budget. This role emphasizes maintaining high standards of quality and productivity while enforcing effective safety protocols throughout all site activities. The Superintendent also manages the job site office and finalizes project documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all construction operations on-site.
  • Lead field personnel to ensure project completion aligns with timelines, budgets, and quality standards as per original designs.
  • Monitor and maintain the construction schedule, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
  • Procure materials and arrange necessary inspections throughout the construction process.
  • Interpret project plans and specifications accurately.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Organize, schedule, and supervise the completion of the final punch list.
  • Promote safety on the job site, advocate for safe work practices, and address hazards immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's safety policies among all employees and contractors.
  • Maintain an orderly job site, including the construction office.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves working in a field environment, which may include standing, sitting, climbing, crawling, bending, pushing/pulling, and walking on uneven surfaces. Exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures is common.

Position Type and Work Hours:

This is a full-time, salaried position with variable work hours depending on the job site. Occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary based on project demands.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years of field experience or a degree in Construction Management.
  • Preferred NCCER Certification in Industrial Carpentry or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and all phases of construction production.

Industry Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid TWIC Card.
  • Valid OSHA Basic Plus certification.
  • Ability to pass all required Safety Council courses.
  • Completion of Pre-Employment Screening, including physical, drug & alcohol testing, audiogram, and fit test if applicable.
  • Valid Driver's License for operating company vehicles and equipment.
