Position Summary
We are in search of a full-time Lead Civil Cost Estimator who will be responsible for ensuring that take-offs, bids, and proposals are executed with the utmost precision and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct accurate and detailed quantity take-offs from project drawings and technical specifications.
  • Research means and methods, materials, costs, and construction techniques.
  • Prepare comprehensive subcontractor and vendor work scopes.
  • Solicit, analyze, and compare subcontractor and vendor quotations, liaising for clarification as needed.
  • Develop full-scope cost estimates in alignment with company estimating policies and procedures.
  • Assist in formulating project plans and execution schedules.
  • Create proposal documents for clients, including written narratives, visual aids, and schedules.
  • Perform site visits for ongoing projects and attend industry trade events.

Experience & Skills Required
Candidates should possess experience estimating significant portions of the following project types: Site Preparation, Sub-Surface Drainage, Dirt and Base, Concrete and Deep Foundations, Paving, and Structural Concrete. Proficiency in HCSS Heavy Bid and Microsoft Excel is essential.

Work Environment
The role involves working with office equipment and requires frequent lifting of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. The position entails prolonged periods of sitting, typing, and reaching. Candidates must be prepared to work in various construction job sites, which may expose them to extreme weather conditions and loud environments.

Physical Demands
Excellent stamina and physical strength are necessary for this role, including the ability to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects. Candidates should possess good manual dexterity and coordination to operate machinery effectively.
